According to law enforcement sources:

  • Over 12.6 Million residential burglaries in the US in 2014 – Source FBI.
  • Burglaries of residential properties accounted for 73.2 percent of all burglary offenses – Source FBI.
  • According to the FBI, Home Break-In (Burglary) is the most common threat to our home accounting for about 21 percent of property crimes.
  • Victims of burglary offenses suffered an estimated $3.9 billion in property losses in 2014.
  • The average loss through burglary in the US was $2,251.
  • The vast majority of break-ins are from non-professionals, which means they may be more desperate and dangerous. Professionals tend to avoid conflict.
